Youth ages 12 to 17 are invited to become a Junior Volunteer at Kidron Bethel Village (North Newton) or Schowalter Villa (Hesston) for the summer. The Bluestem Communities Junior Volunteer program runs from June 2 to July 25. Participants will interact with residents in a variety of ways, including activities, games, exercise, conversation and more. It’s a wonderful opportunity for intergenerational connections and to enrich the lives of all involved! Applications are required and must be submitted by May 9. July 8-11 for Grades 4-8, 1-3 PM Tuesday through Friday. Join instructor Beth Burns for a week of artistic fun! Drawing, painting, printmaking, and more! $50 per student includes all needed supplies. Register by July 4* on our website or by calling or coming by the gallery. Student’s art will be showcased during a community Art Walk in downtown Newton on July 17. *No refunds after registration deadline unless minimum enrollment is not met.
Create with us on the Second Saturday of the month. Themed make and take creations will be provided every second Saturday through the year for ages 4-10. Free and open to the public. Donations always welcomed. Funded by the Ericka J. Stucky Scholarship Fund and various patrons. May's activity will be yarn wrapped spring birds. Instructor Nicole Shannon will lead the creativity.
